Position: Overnight Hotel Security Guard
Location: Hotel Mission de Oro, 13070 South Highway 33, Santa Nella, CA 95322
Pay: $17–$19 per hour, depending on experience

Job Description
As an Overnight Hotel Security Guard at Hotel Mission de Oro, you will play a vital role in maintaining a safe, secure, and serene environment for our guests and colleagues during overnight hours. This position focuses primarily on on-site patrols throughout the property. The role requires working independently with minimal supervision, strong attention to detail, quick adaptation to situations, and a guest-service mindset to support our reputation as a breathtaking oasis along Interstate-5.

Key Responsibilities

1. Conduct regular foot patrols of the hotel grounds, buildings, guest corridors, picturesque courtyards, parking areas, and amenities (pool, hot tub, fitness center) to monitor for suspicious activity, safety hazards, or disturbances, especially during quiet overnight hours.
2. Communicate with our Security Operations Center (SOC) and respond promptly to any alerts, incidents, or emergencies.
3. Perform property inspections and report any malfunctions or maintenance needs.
4. Take appropriate action to de-escalate situations, ensure safety, and coordinate with local authorities or other responsible hotel colleagues as needed.
5. Provide detailed and accurate information for incident reports and daily activity logs.
6. Provide exceptional customer service by assisting guests with inquiries, directions, or concerns in a calm, professional, and friendly manner—upholding the hotel's commitment to delighting every guest.

Basic Skills Required

1. Strong verbal and written communication skills to interact clearly with guests, colleagues, and emergency responders.
2. Ability to stay calm and composed under pressure, making sound decisions quickly during incidents or emergencies.
3. Basic electronics proficiency for operating hotel security systems.
4. Excellent observational skills and attention to detail to detect potential threats, unauthorized access, or safety issues.
5. Good physical fitness and stamina for extended foot patrols, standing/walking for long periods, and responding swiftly to incidents across the property.
6. Understanding of security protocols, including access control, emergency response, loss prevention, and guest privacy/safety procedures in a hospitality setting.

Qualifications

1. High school diploma or equivalent required; additional training or certifications in security, hospitality security, CPR/First Aid, or law enforcement preferred.
2. Prior experience in hotel security, security operations, law enforcement, military, or a related field is highly advantageous.
3. Must successfully pass a comprehensive background check and drug screening.
4. Ability to work overnight shifts (graveyard/overnight hours), including weekends, holidays, and flexible scheduling as needed for 24/7 hotel operations.
